The need for a global prayer hub has
been talked about among the UK praying community for almost as long as
the internet has been in existence. There have been many
differing interpretations about what a prayer hub actually is and
does! Looking at it in its broadest terms, THE INTERNET
already is a prayer hub, in that it allows rapid communication
globally between praying people. Information is passed
on faster now than ever before - but its not co-ordinated or
controlled and there is loads of duplication!
For the praying community there are
two fundamental challenges that need to be addressed - 1, the
accuracy and integrity of the information AND 2, the need for secure
and controlled access to some types of information.
To achieve this, there needs to be a
managed mechanism for collecting the information and a system for
registering and categorising users and delivering the appropriate
sensitivity level of information to them. Ideally, the system needs
to be easily integrated into existing websites, providing its
features and benefits to the smaller local groups as well as the
larger national organisations. The solution needs to be secure where
appropriate and it must be accessible and affordable to all. |
